INTRODUCTION
1.1
Background
and reason of choosing the title
In
this globalization era, the use of figure of speech in everyday conversation is
commonplace and even common. This differs from the figure of speech in earlier
times were only used by poets to create literature. At that time use is very
stiff and old-fashioned, because the language used is very difficult to
understand and not used in everyday language. Different with now, consumption
figure of speech in everyday conversation can be referred to as the art of
conversation. Often unwittingly when listening to music, there will be found a
few inserts figure of speech in the lyrics of a song.
Figure
of speech has become an important element in
the paper, as well as in a song.
The use of figure of speech in the lyrics of the song may be the main attraction on the track, capable

problem

1.4 Method and
procedure of the analysis
The method of this research is
descriptive qualitative. In the making of this research, the writer listens to
the songs and analyzes simile expressions of the lyrics. After that, the writer
finds out library research by reading books. Besides that, the writer also
finds out information from other resources which is support this research as
well.
This paper consists of three
chapters. Chapter one, the writer describes about background and reason of
choosing the title, statement of the problem, scope of the problem, and the
method and procedures of the analysis. Chapter two, the writer explain about
definition of simile, patter of simile, types of simile, definition of song and
definition of lyric. Finally chapter three discuss about types of simile
expressions in song lyrics and how simile expression occur in song lyrics.
